Kwinana Beach
Kwinana Beach Rockingham Western Australia
Kwinana Beach
Kwinana Beach is to the east of Rockingham and is host to some of Rockingham history, the beach itself has a boat ramp, change rooms, swings, parks, barbecues, and even a jetty to catch a fish or two. I've been down to Kwinana beach my self from time to time, my self and a few others have allways caught fish here. The park at Kwniana Beach is called Tennis wells park and it's right beside the beach. On a warm summer night this place gets packed with fishermen trying to catch the big one, we have seen stingrays, port jackson sharks and a few other types of fish been caught here at night.
The beach is also known for having the Kwinana ship wreck which lies at the foot of the jetty, the wreck was called the S.S. Kwinana. In May 1922 while at Careening Bay, Garden Island, she was blown ashore during a storm to the place where it rests today. The Kwinana grain terminal can be found here as well this is were all the grain is bought in by large ships traveling from other parts of the world. Kwinana beach is alot more peaceful than the other beaches in Rockingham i don't know why but i get that feeling of peace when fishing at the jetty.
Going to Kwinana beach is good , because your four legged friends are aloud at the beach, on some days we have been at the beach when we have seen horses going for a swim, this always make our kids look with amazement. Tennis Well Park is good for having a barbecue because there is a small deli and a bottle shop cross the road from the park. Please remember if you plan to drink then don't drive. To find Kwinana beach you would drive along Kwinana beach road heading away from the Rockingham foreshore.
