She has join a group of cadets which have a camp at the Leeuwin Barracks in East Fremantle, the stay is a week long with all type’s of activities for them to do.

INFO BUZZ

This is actually Leeuwin Barracks. While owned by a Private Owner, it is leased to the Defence Department on a 99 year peppercorn lease. This is actually an Army Barracks, not Navy, and is one of the main Army Reserve training facilities. Also housed here is an Australian Army Cadet unit and an Australian Air Force Cadet unit. The road borders the base and the two Eastern Ovals have been sold by the owner. They are no longer a part of the base.

This was formerly HMAS Leeuwin - a training shore-base for Junior Recruits, (JRs). Lads from 15yrs 6mths to 16yrs 6mths could sign up for duty starting with 12 months training at HMAS Leeuwin. This would include basic seamanship training, further regular education and experience in uniformed Military Service.
