The Motorbike frog is found around Lake Richmond and other parts of Rockingham Western Australia.
The males have a slow loud call ( craw-awk, crawk, crok, crok ) which sounds like a motorbike changing gear.
Some people think the call from a motorbike frog sounds more like a Australian Raven (Corvus coronoides).
Males call during the breeding season and usually call when they are partly in the water.

The motorbike frog is found in swamp's, lakes, back yard ponds, local parks, and along vegetated water courses, the motorbike frog is some time's referred to as a tree frog but is really a ground frog which is very capable of climbing the local vegetation.

The female motorbike frog lays a number of eggs which are made in a clump attached to floating vegetation, as in large leaves, sticks, and grass land.

The motorbike tadpoles grows up to 80mm when development starts. Their body is not fully developed yet, as it still has many more weeks until it has fully grown into a adult frog.

If the motorbike frogs are handled, both males and females can produce a loud distress call.
Frogs are great barometers of the health of the garden and important pest controls for flying cockroaches, moths, snails and slugs.

Their nightly chorus are a welcome addition to any garden, as long as you don't have as many as my mother and father had in their pond .
