Point Peron is located to the west of Rockingham and is easily accessible by family car via Safety Bay road and west into Point Peron rd.

The fishing here varies from time to time with the mainstay being Herring and Garfish.The area also holds abundant schools of Buffalo Bream and Sand Whiting. Squid can be caught most of the year from the many rock platforms that make up this stretch of coastline.

Be very wary of the stability of the cliffs as they are in a very fragile state and always stick to the many well laid out pathways. For the more adventurous head to the northern tip (Point John ) and with some skillful climbing ( BE VERY CAREFUL HERE ) you can access a large flat platform that sits in front of the main cliff face. This platform is excellent for Herring, Tailor and King George Whiting but watch the swells when it is rough as they do break over the platform at times. Samson fish have also been hooked of this platform over the years but landing them is a different story as the bottom is a maze of reef , rocks and hidden snags During the Salmon run this platform and another just a few hundred metres south are fantastic for lure spinning early morning as the water is deep enough to allow the use of minnow style lures without fear of snagging rocks. Some hefty Tailor are also taken from these locations at times..

To the south side of the point are many calm bays and beaches, before the sea breeze, and can make excellent spots to take the family for a morning fish.

Please always take your rubbish with you when you leave as this area is very fragile and home to many scarce species.
