What can we do ? We can help if you get swamped ! You need a weather report, you have unexpected problems, you hit some thing that you really didn't want to hit !, You have any other emergencies or general boating enquiries.

What can you do ?? You can help us by logging on when you go out and logging off when you come in. This can be done by calling Rockingham Volunteer Sea Rescue ( VN 6KC on 27.90 MHZ )

When you log on, we need to know....

1.Your call sign or D.O.T No. ( Boat REGO )

2.How many people on board ( Including yourself )

3.Amount of fuel ( Litres )

4. Name of boat ramp you launched from.

5. Your destination.

6. Your estimated time of return ( E.T.R )

7. Please learn and observe radio procedure for the benefit of all operators

8. Speak slowly and distinctly.

We reply "........................., This is VN6KC Over "

You call " VN6KC, This ........ I wish to log on. I have ......... people on baord and ........ liters of fuel. I launched from ......................, My destination is ................................, and my E.T.R is ........hours.

" Logging Off "

You call : " VN6KC, VN6KC, this is ......................." X 2

We reply "........................., This is VN6KC Over "

You call : " VN6KC, This is ..........................., I have returned to the ramp, please take me off the log " Over "

We reply "........................., Taking you off the log. VN6KC standing by "

Special Notes

Only use 27.90MHZ or VHF CH 73 for logging on and off and general calls to VN6KC ( IE Weather Info )

VHF channel 16 and 27.88MHZ are to be used for emergency and calling only.

VHF channel 16 is monitored by " Perth radio " V.I.P 24 hours a day

Please consider tranning your children and crew in basic radio procedures, particularly emergency procedures.
