Sea Mullet ( Mugil cephalus )

The Sea Mullet is the largest Australian mullet weighting at 0.2-1.0 kilos, but they can reach a weight of 5.0 kilos. The sea mullet takes up to 5-6 years to reach maturity to be able to breed , sea mullet length can between 54-55cm. Their colour's vary depending on the habitat they live in, sea mullet that are found in open waters of the ocean have olive green backs and silvery sides, they also have a brownish tan along the back and silvery on the side. The sea mullet is also found in local estuaries, rivers and large lakes .
