Local Waters: Sea Rescue Training Run

Today I was involved in a sea rescue training run, with the Rockingham Sea Rescue and the RAC Helicopter Rescue 1 in our local waters, Cockburn Sound, the traning consisted of many types of ways of rescuing people from onboard a boat to rescuing people out of the ocean.

The traning started around 9.40am and finished around mid day, it was good to see how the RAC Rescue 1 crew operates, these guys mean business, they just don't muck around, the RAC helicopter is based at the Jankot Airport 24 hours a day 7 days a week along with a fully experience team, these guys are in the air with in minutes if there is a call to rescue some one in trouble, not only for the ocean but the RAC Helicopter Rescue 1 is involved in many types of rescue every day of the year.

Traning consisted of dropping and picking up people from on board the Alf Powell, as well as picking up the crew from the ocean with in Cockburn Sound.
