Australian Admiral or Yellow Admiral
The Yellow Admiral is a striking butterfly with black and orange colourings and a large yellow patch on its wings.
Each forewing has a blue eye spot underneath it wings.

The yellow admiral has a habit of resting vertically on walls, fences and tree trunks and is commonly seen in our gardens around Rockingham feeding on flowers. The butterfly is also found at Lake Richmond Western Australia.

Habitat: Urban areas, forests and woodlands.
Status: Common
Size: Up to 5 cm
