The groynes like the ASI and Woddies as we locals call it, allow anglers access to deeper water with in Cockburn Sound. I suggest you try Woodman's Point groyne, WAPET groyne and Cockburn Power Boat Club groyne which all provide spot on fishing, the beaches that are near the groyne's are all popular spots for catching Herring, Tailor and Skipjack Trevally.
